   Your photos looks amazing! The first photo looks like a savoy cabbage and the second photo??? Third photo is Swiss chard.

   of course I can name them:

   1. green vegetable
   2. purple vegetable
   3. di-coloured vegetable (or a greedy vegetable, stealing 2 colours of itself!)

   I like mamunaku’s answer the best! They are savoy cabbage, purple kale, and swiss chard. One side of living in the land of the cold is that you get very familiar with winter vegetables. They grow really well here in the summer. Sounds like you’re having a good time. That’s good to hear!

   Dutch father used to plant these winter vegies but he gave up his little land almost 2 years ago as he cannot keep up with it anymore (he is 75 now I think).

   At any rate, I’m busy myself with so many things work-related and will try to catch up with you soon by email. I wonder how long you are staying in Athens? ‘Might’ (depending on the schedule) go there.

    Hi Rosa… I know in Switzerland you can have a great selection of winter vegetables. In Greece however we do not get much of a variety.. like for example cabbage.. its not easy to find savoy on first picture.

    Jo not beetroot…. in Greece we only have the red variety of beets
    thats SWISS CHARD… you can buy chards at laiki but only the green variety, thats what I know, I go to 3 laikis in my area but never seen this kind of chard. In fact the first time I saw red swiss chard was in Italy.

    Hi Sha great shots of those winter veggies. No idea what they are but if they look as crunchy as your pictures I can give them a go even though I’m not really into veggies. I know I should them to my staple diet.
